I’ve added a few more days to the due date for book reports.  The new due date is Monday, April 2nd.  Students are working on either finishing their chosen books this week, or beginning their report/review.  This will give us 2 good weeks to create effective reports.

Shawn the artist is making the rounds in Minesing classrooms!  Tomorrow, grade five students in the portable will have their visit from him.  We’ll be using oil pastels, so please don’t wear your best outfits to school.  We want to avoid pastel disaster!

Math sheets:  We took up some questions from two math sheets today (called NS5-18 and NS5-19)  Two others are due for tomorrow.  They are called NS5-20 and NS5-24.  We’ve worked on these sheets in class on Friday last week and today in math class.

A book report assignment has been assignned in class.  We are trying to be ready for class presentations around the last week of March or the first week of April.

The “Drawing for a Home Energy Audit” has been assigned in class for science.  The due date is Mon March 26th.   Today, students made a “draft detector” and we tried it out on windows and exterior doors at the school.  Students can bring the draft detector home to do their own audit for the assignment. 

As posted earlier on the blog, there is a science quiz tomorrow (Fri., Feb 24)  Students have been asked to bring their word work journals and study the definitions of the energy words we’ve had in class for two weeks.  The list of words is on our word work page on this blog if needed.

Our second geometry quiz is tomorrow, Wednesday Feb 22nd.  As preparation, we have a homework sheet called “Classifying Triangles by Side Lengths”.  Rulers and protractors are needed.

We’ve skated for DPA twice already.  From now on, it will be on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1:50 until 2:20 pm.
