We will a have Genius Hour this week. Please come prepared with topics and items that you need (e.g. if you’re building something, etc) for Thursday this week. (NOT FRIDAY DUE TO OUR END OF YEAR CELEBRATIONS)

Celebration plan for Friday…
Like most classes, we will have some time on Friday this week for an “school end of 2016” celebration. So far, here are our plans:
- Students are talking tonight (Monday) to parents about possibly bringing in a snack to share (we gave it the categories a) salty/spicy b) sweet c) drinks d) healthy, and we said that it could be for sharing with 6-15 classmates
- Students are wearing pyjamas (optional) for the day (Fri.) Mr. Murphy is coming dressed as a celebrity as a reward for the school’s food drive success.
- Our celebration will be in the middle of the day (Fri)
- We are planning a voluntary “Secret Santa” fun gift exchange with the understanding that gifts should be small ($5.00 limit) and it should be possible for anyone in the class to enjoy them (i.e. don’t get a “girl” or “boy” gift but rather a gift that a girl or boy would enjoy. The Secret Santa gifts will be put on a counter on Friday and we’ll have a draw of names for who picks first. The gifts should only be wrapped and have no names or hints on them. Anyone who put a gift into the exchange should end up getting a gift in return from the exchange.
