Habitat Models

The finished models have been up in the library for two weeks.  It is time to take them home this week.  After school on Thursday, I’ll have to put all remaining models into the garbage.  Please make arrangements.

Take Science Home for the diagram

Today, we got our simple homemade harmonicas started in class.  The video is a link on the side of this blog.  (Sound:  Homemade Harmonicas…).

HOMEWORK:  Please finish a drawing of the harmonica (whether you finished it or not you should be able to) and ADD some modification (change) ideas to the materials that you could use.

Books to finish

Late last week, I asked the class to make a brand new fiction book choice.  The goal is to finish reading this book in early March so that we can finish our study of narrative (story) forms by creating the text and video for movie trailers based on the book choices.  I sent a form home today about this.  If it was forgotten/lost, etc, here is a link to re-print the form at home.

Speech Marks

First, congratulations to Finn and Logan who presented their MINTalks today in the library.  Way to go!

Second, everyone in the portable who has presented their speeches has received their marking sheet.  Please sign these (parents/guardians) and return for me to record this information.

Two agenda items

  1.  MINTalks is tomorrow (Thurs.) at 11:30 (unless another snow day occurs…)
  2. Habitat models (see photo below) will be moved tomorrow to the Library to be on display during the Valentine’s week and the week following, at which point students will have to take them home.

Messy Model day….

To finish up our habitat models, Tuesday this week is planned as our final messy model day.  In the event that the weather prevents busing from happening, we’ll do our messy model day on the very next “non-snow day” this week.

Tests back

Graded habitat tests were handed back today (except for the four students that wrote the test today).  Parents/guardians, please initial them and send them back so that I can record that they were shared at home.  Thank-you.

Science Models

I’ve extended my due date again for the science models as I can tell that the class is close, but not quite ready to hand them in.  I’m planning on having one last “Messy Model Day” on Tuesday next week.  At the end of the school day on Tuesday, I’m going to start marking them.
