2. Two field trips (different in both grades) have been announced.  Check the “paperwork” pull-down (up top)
3. We are collecting materials for homemade bridges, towers, egg-drop containers, pulley and gear systems.  They can come in tomorrow.  We’ll construct during the week following -March break.  The guidelines for each task (each grade’s) is under the “Paperwork” pull-down.

Tomorrow, please try to wear all the red and white that you can to celebrate Canada’s success at the Pyeongchang Olympics!

Report cards were sent home today to report about term one.

Congratulations to all students who have completed their “Min Talk” oral visual presentations in the portable.  Great effort was demonstrated in so many ways.

I have decided to nominate four students to take their talks to the annual “Min Talk” competition on Tuesday, February 6th” in our library at the school.  I don’t have the timing yet as to when exactly the junior speakers will be on.

Grade 4:  Ashley and Nate

Grade 5:  Emily and Connor

Half the class is scheduled for Wednesday and half for Thursday.

NOTE:  The flu bug has made it’s way to the Murphy household, however, and it’s possible that I may have to reschedule all students to the Thursday.  Those of you with a Wednesday presentation, please still come prepared tomorrow…and if it’s delayed it will simply mean that you have one day extra!

The new food orders for school are due on Monday, February 5th.  The form was sent via email from the office and it exists here too on this blog (Check out the “Paperwork” pulldown up top).

Oops…we had a mix up on the dates for the grade five trip.  Grade 5’s in Mr. Murphy’s and Stones’ classes will go on the Friday, and Mr. Donaldson’s on the Thursday.  The correction has been changed in the letter that is a link on my “Paperwork” pull-down up top on this blog.

TO BE CLEAR:  Mr. Murphy’s grade fives go on the Friday, not the Thursday.  

Sorry for the mix-up.

On Thursday, February 8th, all grade students from Mr. Murphy’s and Mr. Donaldson’s classrooms will be going to Springwater Park for the day for a First Nations event that will support their learning in the Social Studies unit upcoming this spring (Mr. Stones’ students are on the next day…).

The permission form is being emailed to all parents/guardians who are linked to the school’s system for such information, and it is posted on my blog here under the “Paperwork” pull down up top.
